I went to Rishikesh recently and got a chance to hike up to this mesmerizing place. I also did river rafting<\/strong><\/a> and stayed at a magnificent campsite<\/strong><\/a>. However, being a mountain guy this place stole my heart. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Talking about an unexplored place, or should I say a less crowded gem is the Patna Waterfall in Rishikesh, named after the Patna Village. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is at a distance of 6.5km from Lakshman Jhula<\/strong> and is located at Patna Village near Garud Chatti<\/strong>, by Neelkanth Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You need at least 2 to 3 hours to explore this beautiful place<\/strong>. You will have to hike to reach the waterfall, which is about 1.5 km and would take you around 30 – 35 minutes from the base<\/strong> to go up there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no such entry fee or anything; it is free of cost<\/strong>, but if you need to buy yourself snacks and other eatables<\/strong>, do carry your wallet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ideally, the best time to visit the Patna Waterfall in Rishikesh is during the monsoon season<\/strong>, i.e., from July to September, with lush green forests<\/strong> covering the hilly area and mesmerizing for the visitors to address the scenic beauty of the waterfall<\/strong> and Rishikesh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can visit this place with your friends and family, and it is a perfect place for a Sunday outing<\/strong> or a mini escape spot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During summers<\/strong>, you can also visit this place for refreshment and get a naturally chilling shower below the waterfall<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some people living around the area also say that sometimes the waterfall completely dries up in summer. Hence, if you wish to visit this place during summer, contact a few locals about the hikes in Rishikesh to Patna waterfall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, talking about trekking in monsoon<\/strong>, although it is safe, it is somewhat risky too if you are not familiar with the muddy and slippery areas of Rishikesh. And also, avoid traveling to this place after dark due to the wildlife presence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To reach the Patna waterfall in Rishikesh, you can rent a scooter<\/strong> near Tapovan starting from Rs 300 per day or book a cab from Lakshman Jhula starting from Rs 500<\/strong> start your way and climb the rocky trail to one of the best hikes in Rishikesh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding to it you can also choose walking if you have enough time to explore this place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a less crowded place, with less noise and no traffic<\/strong>, you should visit this if you are looking to enjoy some time amid nature. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, don’t forget to wear your hiking shoes<\/strong>. They are a must because the trek would be steep and muddy. Do not make the same mistake I did, I went for this trek in my slippers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another way is to book your flight tickets to Dehradun Airport, i.e., Jolly Grant Airport from your place as it is the nearest airport to Rishikesh at a distance of 20km<\/strong>, and then you can book a cab to visit this beautiful waterfall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
